Love this color combo. He ordered it with the black hood, but they ran out. I’m glad because I think it’s beautiful just the way it is. BTW, we learned that launch control is disabled for the first 500 miles.

Black hood would not look good there :)

How exactly do you run out of a black hood? Also, launch control being disabled for that first break-in period is pretty smart.

Dunno. We offered to paint it for him, thank God he ended up deciding against it after seeing it.

“But they ran out.”
I’m picturing you secretly removing the black hood, taking it into the alley, with a blowtorch and an aluminum bat. “He’ll thank me later,” you told yourself.

Wow, that looks great. Glad there’s no black hood on there; it would somewhat spoil the looks.

Dodge seems to be running out of a lot of things since the Hellcats came out. They’ve just been flying out the door — something FCA didn’t think was going to happen — and the assembly plants simply weren’t prepared.
Also, I personally don't like the black hood.

That is a very, very good thing. Means they are selling and incentivizes more crazy later.

Oh it’s an excellent thing! FCA is behind on production for a car that was expected to be low volume. The exact same thing happened when they introduced the EcoDiesel in the Ram 1500, they expected only to sell a handful here and there but look how many they sold so far. If only the Viper would sell like that then they’d really be bringing in loads of profit.

I’m not asking you disclose this info, but when I see this picture I wonder what the purchaser of this car does for a living. I’m guessing that he owns the business for the uniform that he’s wearing.

I heard it’s gonna be better next year or the following one (unlimited production) and they found a way to avoid huge markups by dealers.

That hood gap, is that normal? That is really bothering me

If he really wants a black hood, he could have a matte black wrap done on just the hood.
Wouldn’t look bad, would protect hood paint from chipping, wouldn’t be expensive.

A much better idea than painting, and one that we did suggest to him.

That 501st mile will be
